This is a Hitachi VK-C850 saticon tube colour video camera from 1983. This camera connects to a portable VHS VCR and was made pretty much for the consumer market as video cameras were made more affordable in the early 80s. This camera works pretty good although it seems to sometimes play up as the picture sometimes goes mauve tinged in the middle and green tinged on the sides, but with a bit of movement it goes away. I've made great use out of this camera when my National NV-180 portable VHS was working and have done a lot of video shootings on my south coast trips to Jervis Bay back in 2004 and some other shootings here and there. I will endeavor to upload some clips to YouTube and embed to this page. This camera still works though I think the reds are starting to go.
